Decided to join after lurking around here for a while.

So far i'm quite set on getting the sedan but still open to whatever else is in the segment.

Current driving a 2000 Lexus IS300

Civic Sedan, specifically the Touring trim. So if you can suggest any of the rivals, even something within the price range you see the Touring in will be fine to me.
The only rival that I can think of so far would be the 2016 Mazda3 sedan.

Although the touring will beat the mazda3 any day with the exterior appearance.

The price range is probably the closest to the touring as well.

Depending on your needs as well. The civic has more cargo space too, which is what I like, as I drive alot to different cities.
That's actually a great suggestion, looked into it a bit and the power output is inline with the Civic, but handling is where it might outshine the Civic since those Mazda's are known to have sportier handling and overall sportier driving dynamics. Coming from something sporty (inline-6, RWD...the IS300) you can already imagine how valuable that is to me.

Do you have any experience behind the wheel of the Mazda 3?
That's true.

So I would guess you like a more sportier ride?

I've never had any experience behind the wheel of the Mazda 3, but only the Mazda 6.. it was quite a smooth ride for me, I liked it.

There is the Mazda 3 sport option, although that would be a hatch. I would presume you want a sedan right?

I still like to stick to the touring :)

Your thoughts?

That's actually some great experience since car makers tend to have similar driving dynamics going on from vehicle to vehicle, especially when it comes to two classes of vehicle that come as close as the Mazda3 and Mazda6 does.

Open to either the sedan or hatch. This time around i'm more accepting of a hatch than I was before due to how GOOD it looks. Some might say the Mazda3 Hatch looks better than the Sedan.

Indeed!

The Mazda 3 Hatch does look better than a sedan, hands down!

Guess we'll have to wait and see until you check out the touring eh? haha:D
