I know I sound crazy, but hear me out. I bought my 2017 Civic Hatch in October with 3,000 miles on it. I drive approximately 7 miles to work every day, and I have made one trip that was 600 miles total, round trip. Please tell me how my odometer is reading now at 9,050 miles??? I honestly think something is wrong with it. There is absolutely no way I drove 6,000 miles in the last 4 months with my daily commuting around town.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm really concerned about it because it is going to ruin my warranty.

Cross reference the your trip meter to check the miles you are gaining...sometimes when you're having too much fun the miles just add up quickly. I feel that way with my car...but I enjoy every minute I'm on the road with it.

Check your display to make sure it is not set to kilometers. Also, find a GPS or phone app that tells you your speed and see how far off your speedometer is, usually anywhere from .5 to even 5 MPH. This could demonstrate to the dealer that the instrument cluster is defective and they should replace or repair it.

I had a similar experience yesterday. I had a apparent battery problem on my 2018 CRV. The Electronic Brake system went haywire and I could not start the vehicle. After getting it jump started, I went to the dealership for an in-warranty battery replacement. When I picked up the vehicle one hour later, the total mileage odometer had gone from about 16500 miles to 20600 miles. I am trying to verify if this has happened to other people before I go back to the dealership. Apparently something similar has happened to your vehicle. Any solution or resolution?
