Ordered - how long does it usually take?

Ordered today from my local honda dealer. Nothing in the system, said he would have to wait until monday to see if they could trade a current build for the one I want? Not sure what any of that means. Anyone done this previously? What kind of wait time?

For those interested: Lunar Silver EX-T with sensing.

Can't wait!

Hi Tim. I'm in North Jersey and ordered my EX-T Rallye Red at my dealer. I was told they would either trade with a nearby dealership or order it to come in with their next shipment of vehicles. It took about a week in my situation. Hope that helps.

Perfect, thanks for your input.....I hope my story goes as smoothly.

To make the pains worse, they have the exact car there I want, except it is a 2.0 instead of the 1.5t. I haven't driven it as I know I would end up going home with it. I just feel like you get a LOT for the cost of the upgrade to the turbo model, aside from the engine itself.

I actually test drove the 2.0 at the dealership because they didn't have any EX-T's on the lot. I must say it was very tough not to just take the EX home but I chose to go with the EX-T for the same exact reasons.

Interesting... only 1 week! My salesperson mentioned somewhere around 6-8 weeks to fulfill a custom order.

My local dealer generally keeps between 15-20 Civic's on the lot. At the moment they have 11 - 2015's left and have 6 - 2016's and only 1 of those 6 is prepped for sale.
It's possible the sales guy is overestimating by a lot, always easier for them to do that than it is to do it the other way around.
Ugh, this is killing me. It's being built anywhere from today to wednesday. I had to change from Lunar silver to modern steel to get the car I wanted (ex-t with sensing). Salesman sent me a pic of a lunar silver turbo without the sensing, I said the h-e-double-hockey-sticks with it and went up to buy it since I can't take the torture of waiting. It was sold and gone in the few hours it took me to think about it.

We need a support group or something. They have EX 2.0 sensing in the color I want, but ****....I really want the other options that come with the turbo motor.
When you finally do get the Civic with everything you've wanted the first ride will be the most satisfying and the wait will have been worth it. I'm sure a few members will be joining you in Civic Anonymous when the Coupe and Hatch comes out. :D
Still waiting. This sucks.
Are you waiting for the next shipment of civics?
I'm pretty sure I covered this before, but I'll share this again here. A fresh order, meaning for a car that is not scheduled to be built, usually takes two months.

Order Placed>Date for Actual Build>Completion and Assignment of VIN#>Assigned ETA>Store Arrival

This whole process takes two months and its actually pretty exact. I've had multiple customer wait about two months for certain Honda, in a specific trim and model.

That being said, it can be a shorter wait if the car you want is already ahead in the whole process, or if it traded in from a different dealer.

If they have not given you a VIN# for car in two-three days, I would say that the wait will be more than a week at that point.
Cut my deal Nov. 18th, was given a VIN# and car was released for delivery Nov. 18-24. After a couple of weeks I was advised that my Civic was destroyed by Honda Canada. Apparently it was one of the first off the line. Told about the first 20 had an unrepairable issue.

On Dec. 8th I was given a new VIN# with the released for delivery dates Dec. 2-8. Well it's Dec. 15th and all the dealer can say is it must be on a truck. I am about a 60 minute drive from the Honda factory.

I'm reading about some real nasty infotainment unit problems on the Touring. Just joined this site and haven't looked around.
Wow you guys need to come up to Lundgren Honda in Auburn MA.
They have a LOT of the new 2016 Civics in all trims on the lot.

Wish you could sneak a Rallye Red Touring up here to Canada. No 2016 Honda Civics offered in Ralley Red. Maybe they are saving it for the Si.

I've actually sold cars to Canadian customers, even though I am in NJ. It would be a lot of paperwork from your end, but it can be done.

They bought an Acura RDX from me, by the way.
Appreciate the offer but not prepared to pay the extra $4,000 to $7,000 USA customers are paying for the Touring. Exchange rate greatly favours us. In US$ the Touring in Canada lists at US$19,500

The one I got was the only one in the area, they have another one inbound but no clue when it will arrive. So I lucked out! >:)
I was originally going to go with an aegean blue or cosmic blue but I am starting to lean towards the rallye red. The color is just pulling me in. It is lively on the new Civic!

As far as order time goes... Just ask them to deliver via helicopter.
