Instead of Errors maybe I should've said Vagueness. I'm used to DOHC motorcycle maintenance and there's always a specified mileage at which to check clearances. "Noisy" is a bit vague and subjective. Actually a properly clearanced valve will make more noise than if there were insufficient or no clearance e.g. tight. Personally I'd rather see a recommended mileage interval from Honda.
Note there is also a "4" code under some maintenance minder determined interval that includes inspect valve clearance.
I'm happy with them attempting to move to on-condition maintenance so that maintenance costs are minimized rather than fixed schedules that assure I spend to maintain the car as though it's the worst case.
Ok thanks Dick (and hunter). I'm still learning the engine maintenance mostly out of curiosity. As opposed to my bikes it has adjustable tappets rather than shims. I'm getting well ahead of myself with the valve adjustment questions--it only has 34 miles on it
