That part is black rubber, you can dig your fingernail into it, it's not metal, and it's not painted.Reminds me of when armorall is applied to rubber, and before it dries it gets rained on.
Ah, I see what you're talking about. Definitely does look oxidized though, see what the dealer says, worst case scenario, try to hit it with some compound and see if it'll come out, perhaps even try clay bar first
That's what I was thinking as well, especially if you went through an auto-wash. The wax would've gotten stuck under the rubber strip, and flowed out when you were driving and dried up there.Did you wax that rubber strip ?
.....wut ?I go to coin operated washes that let you wash your car yourself and always had good luck with them.
