Looks like a rubber strip that hasn't had the protective plastic cover taken off it
Hi, there is no plastic stripe
Hi, there is no plastic stripe
I didnt say plastic or stripe?
Just for you, I went out and looked at the roof of my Civic Touring, my car is red, therefore that strip on my car is black, and it is indeed rubber, mine is matte black. Not shiny at all. Again I think the dealership did not remove the protective clear plastic strip from your car. Because it should not be shiny at all. Its matte black rubber.
Reminds me of when armorall is applied to rubber, and before it dries it gets rained on.

That part is black rubber, you can dig your fingernail into it, it's not metal, and it's not painted.

I go to honda tomorrow , I gives you news
Ah, I see what you're talking about. Definitely does look oxidized though, see what the dealer says, worst case scenario, try to hit it with some compound and see if it'll come out, perhaps even try clay bar first
No never , I wash my car with Simoniz soap
Did you wax that rubber strip ?
That's what I was thinking as well, especially if you went through an auto-wash. The wax would've gotten stuck under the rubber strip, and flowed out when you were driving and dried up there.
i always washed my car with this soap on my 2013 sonata I have the same molding on the roof and I do not have this problem

Well, it will be interesting to see what the dealer says. Keep us posted on this mystery. Good Luck.
I go to coin operated washes that let you wash your car yourself and always had good luck with them.

Anyone looking for something more along the lines of what the pro's use should go on an automotive detailing forum.
