Hey guys! My fiancé just bought the 2016 civic touring with the 1.5t. Are there any performance upgrades or fun stuff I could do without voiding the warranty? Thanks!!

Break it in properly for the first 600 miles before you do anything! don't go much above 3500RPM and be easy on it during warmup

not as of yet. From what I understand many of the big tuning/aftermarket companies are holding off on stuff until the Si's come out, which is typically a more lucrative market for them. So couple more months at most I'd say...

Holding out on stuff until the Si comes out? Are they just going to create parts for the Si and not the sedan?
I have a feeling this time around we'll see more focus on non-Si models than we have in the past for the reason we have a turbocharged engine. A simple tune will help 1.5t owners get the extra bit of power they want or see a need for. But of course as always the Si will get most of the aftermarket love.
I would just think that if you want more performance, you'd go for the Si, and following from that, I would assume that performance parts would focus on that model.
I would not be modding a Civic with a cvt transmission. It is a great combination with an efficient engine and a little zoom but generally is set up just above the engines max output (~+10%) I do not suspect Honda designed this transmission with modifications in mind.

I would not want to alter wear patterns or hurt the car's longevity.
These new Civics look great. I hope these youngsters don't rice them up.
Hondata already has one for tuning testing, suspension and exhaust companies are already looking for people willing to let them use their car to come up with parts, check out the Facebook groups, a lot of good information there.

Can't wait for them to come out with some JDM Altezza Tail lights!!!!!!
The qualification of that it not void the warranty is a big one. That will pretty significantly limit the options that you have.
Usual tuner mods: Fart can muffler, plastidip wheels black, decals, and big wing on the back - NOT!!!
The only thing I can really imagine doing that won't void warranty will be a intake panel filter, and maybe an axle back exhaust. That's pretty much it.

Don't forget the whole hella slammed thing. Once some cheap coilovers come on the market we'll see that happen. Already there's a ton of cheap aftermarket wheels around.

So add to that some stupid low civic with rolled fenders and cambered out knock off wheels :D I think that wins you a toaster at most of the shows these days.

Suppose that I'm different. I'm only here for the gas mileage and the connectivity of the infotainment system. Performance on a true DD is not what I was looking for.

Same here. I've always had sports cars. With this one I want to not get any tickets and just enjoy the ride. I'm glad it does have a good amount of pep in the engine though.

I plan on doing mostly visual mods if any to my Civic for now. Fuel economy was one of the main factors as to why I traded this - http://imgur.com/a/aGrq4 to get it. I already miss that car and it hasn't even been a day yet! And I love the civic too!

I will say, one thing I recommend is a rear sway bar upgrade. I don't know what the civic comes with yet, but I'd imagine it's pretty light and wimpy. Going with a beefier rear sway bar can really have a strong impact on handling performance - even more so than other suspension mods, IMHO. I always start there.

If I keep the car long term and the bug bites I may start adding aftermarket performance mods to squeeze a bit more out of the Turbo, but for now I am happy.
Suspension mods would void the warranty as well though, but they don't really look at them too badly. Maybe start with a good set of tires first ? Gut the interior ;)
For me I am not planning on doing anything. But if I were to do something that's where I'd start.

I would like to replace the rims and plan on doing so when I have to go shopping for tires. I'll wear out the cheapo factory ones first though.
