My wife's vehicle of choice to replace her 2012 CR-V is the Civic Hatchback Sport Touring so I'm lurking on the forum to gather as much information about the car as I can before we have to endure the dealership grind. I'll be exploring dealerships which advertise on the forum and offer discounts to members, in case we can't work a deal locally. There are seven stores within 75 miles so maybe I can stay close but I'm willing to travel for a better deal (and see someplace new in the bargain).

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

Mike

Welcome to the forums, that's some really green grass you got there ;)

But it's great that your open to checking out multiple dealerships and even to venture off a bit, you'll definitely find a good deal like that. Did you guys get a good deal on the CR-V ?
Wow, I got a great deal from my dealership -straight off- without any "grind". The car is awesome and worth every penny.

We got a good trade for our MazdaSpeed 3 and they were willing to meet my OTD price so I was happy. Unfortunately that dealership is in the Washington DC area and we're in Middle Tennessee now so the deal would really have to be stellar.

My major concern is supply and demand for a Sport Touring, which I suspect will be long on the latter and short on the former, leaving less incentive for the dealer to bargain.
Thanks for the grass comment. We had good rainfall and a little fertilizer.
Prospective Owner Update

:D One step close to being an owner. Today we put a deposit on an as yet unbuilt 2017 Sport Touring Hatchback. The dealer had an open allocation for an ST that he agreed to have built in Crystal Black Pearl paint with Black/Ivory leather interior. No additional options necessary since it comes standard with everything we want. For those who would say 'but, black wheels' sorry, don't like them. No idea of delivery date yet but we're in no hurry. We'll take the 2012 CR-V to them next week and they'll file the trade allowance until the car comes in (could have sold it for more but we don't like people coming to the house to make a shopping list for a midnight visit, plus the sales tax break of about $1,300).

As the smiley face indicates, happy.

Did they give any hint of when ST's would hit the lots, my sales man emailed two weeks ago and said production has begun, but I have no idea how long it will take them to ship across the Atlantic.
Awesome! Agreed on the choice of wheels.

Sorry for the late response. My dealer here in Middle Tennessee got their first, and only ST so far, on 2/6. As for the delivery time, my dealer didn't know and I posted that question in the hatchback section a couple of days ago with no firm answers. I expect six to eight weeks minimum from order to delivery.

My car is a 2016 Stingray and there's a big black wheel 'love 'em/ hate 'em' battle on that forum about every other day. I have two sets of wheels for it and neither is black.
