On my 2005 Honda Pilot, I had put a flexible plastic screen door material in front of the grill and transmission cooler to protect it from rocks. I read on a post somebody had an issue on a Civic with a rock taking out the A/C .

Here are some pics of what I did on the Pilot. I used the tabs on the radiator shroud to attach it after folding the edges over to give it more holding support.

Has anybody tried this on a Civic?

That looks pretty good and it's definitely a good idea. The same member that had the issue I believe took steps to ensure it wouldn't happen again using some sort of mesh material. Not too sure if anyone took it on to prevent damages like that though

another way to go about this is pulling some mesh or piece with similar function from another car, something you might be able to find for cheap from a junk yard. but that mesh is probably going to be the best bang for your buck.

I have done it on my last few Civics but used gutter guard . Do a search.. I posted it here .
