Ride quality - '16 Civic versus the '12-'15 Civic

I am wondering how many here went from the '12-'15 Civic to the new '16 model that can comment on ride comfort?

Does the '16 model feel smoother than the previous Civic? I had a '12 Civic LX and one of the main reasons I sold it was I felt the ride was way too harsh and "busy", especially on the freeway at 65-80 mph. I would have thought that the LX would have had a little more forgiving ride, but mine was pretty uncomfortable. I used to read where some would say the '13's upgrades made way for smoother ride, while other said it was even more firm. I can see the SI sporty model having a firmer suspension, but seems like the LX at least for '12 had an overly firm ride.

I haven't had a chance to even set inside a new '16 Civic to see how the seats feel, so wondering how those are, as well as the ride? I know this isn't a large luxury car, but wondering how the ride quality is now, if it is smoother than the previous Civic. I am mainly referring to the LX and EX. Thanks!

The seats are pretty comfortable. I have an 09 Civic and the 16 is a much smoother ride. It's not a smothered smooth like a mushy car. It manages to feel more connected to the road yet is refined and much more quiet than our previous car. The stiffened chassis helps it feel solid while the hydraulic bushing eat up the bumps. If you want a smoother ride you will probably want the 16" wheels instead of the 17" that come on the higher trims.

the best way I can describe the new car is sharp without being stiff. It does what you want when you want. There's very little suspension wallow, body roll is there but it's much more controlled then it was before. The seats are supportive and comfortable... easy to find a good driving position, car feels like it wraps around you now..
