Hi,

I own a MINT condition 2015 Civic EX sedan with 19900 miles and own it outright. However, I really love the look of the new 2017 EX. I also test drove on yesterday and loved the way it drives. Would I be crazy to trade or sell my perfect MINT 2015 EX for a 2017? I'm very tempted!

You should do a private sale but tell the buyer that the paper work will be done at the dealership. Make an agreement with the dealership that states you will bring a buyer for your car at your set price. So it's actually a trade in but you set the price and get the tax savings, the dealer will want a small paper work fee of about 100$. It's a win, win, win situation, you get the price you want and tax savings, the buyer gets the car for the agreed price without the hassle of changing the reg and going to the bank with you , and the dealer get's the opportunity to finance your old car and add extended warranty.
