OK, but why is this thread happening when we have threads on the hatchback already. Is any of this new? Is there a question? A topic to be discussed? Is anyone else confused a bit by this?
The Type R Will be a Hatchback
This has already been established but, when the Civic Type R does eventually make its way to North America, it will be coming as a Hatchback.
The Hatchback Type R will be the performance model for the new Civic lineup and Honda’s ticket away from the rational. They’ve admitted to the Civic becoming a more rational car but Honda is hoping to move away from that with the new hot hatch. Production features on the normal hatchback will of course be toned down a bit but this concept, as is, would make a fine looking Type R.
Maybe you’ll see one of these racing at either Pikes Peak or the 25 Hours of Thunderhill this year.
