Thinking about waiting on the coupe??

Hello everyone, I was thinking about getting the 2016 civic coupe when it came out, but I had a couple questions before I wait that long. I figured some of you might know.

First, I can't seem to find really any pictures besides the blue and a green one. I was wondering if anyone knew if the silver grill in the front will be black on the black models?

Next, I was wondering if the dash on the lower models (I know it's on on the one shown in November) will have that awesome feature from earlier years, where it has a separate little dash area above the steering wheel which has like the MPH in numerals, and you it's all an LCD panel, so you can change the colors and everything?

Thanks for any answers.

If it's anything like the Civic sedan, the coupe grille will be silver on the black paint version. What you can do is plasti dip it. 2slo4u plasti dipped his and it looks great.

As for the dash, are you referring to the 7" colour TFT centre meter display with Driver Information Interface7" colour TFT centre meter display with Driver Information Interface? It wasn't available on the base model for the sedan (DX) but this could change for the coupe. Not sure until Honda comes out with more information.

the grille wont be black. We suspect the grill may go black on the Si models but we can't say for sure... there's always plastidip like @2slo4u did to his...

Okay thank you. I might look at that.

As far as the image, I'm talking about the top part in the attached image. Basically, you have the normal area behind the steering wheel with the speedometer etc, then on the 2012 that I looked at at the time, there was a separate part above it that showed the gas, speed and a couple other things. It looked amazing and futuristic!

Yea the grille will be silver, but making it black looks really good and its super cheap to do. I wouldn't worry about it.

You could also hold out for the Si which many of us do believe will feature the all black look of the concept in the banner...

No, they did away with the two tier dash for the 10th gen civics. The instrument cluster is still digital (digital speedo on the LX, full digital read out EX and above) but they're all behind the steering wheel again. They also got rid of the upper dash iMID and moved it down to the main center stack (for LX models) and EX and above have the 7 inch screen.

The first picture is the LX interior with the iMID and digital speedo/physical tach. The second picture is EX and above models with the 7 inch screen and fully digital instrument cluster. As you can see in both, no more double stacked dash layout.

If you are waiting for the coupe that should be enough time for all the obvious glitches to be worked out of the car. By the time it hits the market you will not be a guinea pig and should have a pretty smooth experience since most of the hardware will be the same as the sedan. The timeframe with the coupe will work to your advantage. However I am sure we are both in the same camp with patience and patience is almost out of season. I am planning on buying a civic sedan ex that is made after 6 months of production. I am sure you will be happier with what you really want in the coupe. Happy travels...

Yea, you might be happy in the short term if you buy the sedan, but if you really want the coupe, when it comes out later you might be sad you didn't wait it out.
I'm willing to wait for the coupe. My next Civic will have two doors and three pedals! It will take a while, but I'm patient.

If you're not in a hurry for a new car, it's best to wait until the coupe is out. If it's not what you want you can always go to the Civic sedan. It's still going to be in production by the time the coupe comes out.
Better yet wait till the Si coupe is out, that will be the most rewarding of all. But the wait will be painful since you'll likely see regular coupes on the road before Si drops.
Waiting to see and drive Coupe. Will have wife drive both and pick what she wants. She gets to pick what she wants, since I picked everything for last new car. Personally leaning towards Coupe, but would be happy with either, I think they both look great.
I don't think you can really go wrong with the 10th gen civics if the 2016 sedan is a precursor to what is to come. It have great safety and features that will appear in the coupe too.

You and me both brother. My feet for the past couple years only know of three pedals and nothing less. Although on some occassions I wish I had automatic in traffic congestion but other than that for both communte and leisure I love manual. New Si coupe would be ideal but since the coupe has to make it's introuction first and then a while after I suspect the Si will appear.
it'll be nice when we have a firm date for all the Civic variants, so that people can make an informed decision about if they would like to wait or not.
Did we get a date for the coupe release? I only know that it's coming out this year.
Late spring, early summer according to my dealer. I'm waiting for the concept green coup, 1.5t, CVT then decide if I trade in my 15 Si coupe.........need to get into an auto due to surgery on my left ankle and knee.
Are we guaranteed that green colo will be offered?

Man I sure hope so, that green is killer, also the design and looks of the concept car is awesome. And no Chrome Grill either
