Thanks for the video. That's some things people can test out before signing the papers and driving off with the civic.
I don't think there's a fix for the vents but someone posted a great video on a Diy fix for the rattling.

I bet all of these get fixed for the 2017 models. The sub woofer issue is really bad, but fixable. Honda should at least replace the vent assembly. I recall the 2012's had many issues that were corrected for 2013. I'm waiting until the 2018 model year, which will be the second production year the the Civic hatchbacks.

so in other words if you "missed" or did not quite notice this during the test ride you should just say "Oh well"???? No. For almost $30,000.00 and being brand new, this should NOT happen and is not acceptable.

Yes exactly. All cars I think will have some kind of warranty issue here or there. My car is currently at the dealer for a third time.
That really blows that you're having these problems. I can't say I've had either of these crop up on me yet, and I've had my Coupe for two weeks now as well.

But, I don't play any music that would require that much bass, and I don't think I've messed with those center vents yet. I'll have to try that out and see what happens.

I hope Honda gets this straightened out for you.

Mine rattles too, not as bad as yours though.
When I took it in, the Dealership told me keep in mind this is not a Bose system, and they changed my settings took all the bass out of it.
Basically made it sound like crap. I have seen some people stuff foam around the underside of the woofer.
This is ridiculous, if you're going to put a 450 watt stereo in a car, then it should be able to handle it, every single part of it.
I also started having the issue where the radio changes itself back to the main menu by itself, and when I press audio again it goes beep beep and changes itself back to main menu again.
Dealership has a video I made of it, said they'd talk to Honda about it. I guess this is the price we pay for being early adopters, but honestly I expected better from Honda, I expected them to work it out before they put it on the market

Yeah not everyone will play music like mine (not that Katy Perry is weird or outside of mainstream), but the idea that they're saying I'm not supposed to play certain kinds of music or volumes is what really made me mad. I paid extra just so I could have better sound.
my exl rattles a little on certain songs with a lot of base..but sometimes it doesn't. I just got mine not to long ago.. I also have a problem with the bluetooth.. :(
No rattles in the sub but then I only cranked a rock tune up 1/2 way. But the car is solid, no rattles and I dont have thatvent issue.

Touring trim?

Try a song with bass. Chamakay by Blood Orange. Use bluetooth and a high quality file or youtube.
The best thing to do is download bass test audio's and play that, it's what the professionals use and I think you can even find certain songs that car makers and dealerships use to test audio systems, often during the Pre-Delivery Inspection, before the vehicle goes off to you.
Spoke to Honda, they refuse to fix it at this point. They blame it on me.

I suggest everyone file a BBB complaint:

Seems like the only solution to it unless you fix it yourself. Would be great if dealerships can lodge a complaint too as I assume Honda will listen to them more.
