Finally things are starting to heat up with the Hatch for 2017. With this recent mule spied without any heavy camo, it's sign we could be seeing something more soon enough. What do you guys think about it so far?

Hmmm.. I usually love hatchbacks, but not really feeling this 5 door hatch. Feels like a sedan with a forced hatched really, instead of a different car.

I've been putting off getting a new car until the Civic hatchback is available, which looks to be another couple months or so. One of my concerns has been the length of the car, because my spot in our attached garage is pretty short. My 2007 Honda Fit has room to spare but anything longer than 174" really starts to squeeze the space behind my car, which is the path in and out of our house when not using the front door (which we almost never do). The article linked below states the length of the new Civic hatchback will be 4415mm (173.8"), which is about 8.5" shorter than the Civic sedan. I hope they're right.

I'm waiting for the hatch and this looks Meh to me. My hopes of something sporty is loosing steam. Looks a little like an after thought design thrown onto the sedan. Hoping it looks better when the skin comes off.

See, now that looks like a hatch ! You can see the lines clearly and everything, that makes darn sense

Its proportions looks more like a sedan than a hatch to me. I has hoping to see a shorter rear end like the one from the concept. Seems like the butt was elongated a bit.

Does look very sedanish. B20Vtec's pics look very much different that Smith's pics at top of post. Even minus camo treatment. If they are the same car, that camo is really effective, because they just don't look the same to me.

I am convinced the car on the bottom is just the sedan. There is no rear window wiper like on the hatch in camo among other differences.

Yes, that's the pic I was referring to. The link states that it's a rendering, probably based on the best available info. My bet is the final product will be pretty close, but we won't know for sure until we see it.

Yea I definitely believe the other pictures I posted to coincide with the initial post is not the hatch. I got totally deterred because of the title of the article I got the pictures from. Terribly sorry guys, should have seen that on my own

A bit closer to the ground than a CUV but with a taller body, the rendering could pass for one. I think the spied pictures could be just a sedan and we're still waiting for the hatchback production model with a shorter rear.

Last I heard, we're expecting them to start shipping the hatchback some time in the second half of this year but nothing more specific than that.

I read that GM is considering ending production in Brexit land.
Honda has a lot of capacity there that will be less easy to sell to the EU.
Maybe the US will get more hatchbacks.

When brexit happened my first thought was, oh no, will it effect the hatchback civics? In terms of sales here, i hope not, but it remains to be seen. With the Euro in such a bad way i wonder how this could potentially effect the pricing of the hatch.

Or, as stated by go cart, they could opt to ship more of the hatches here than originally planned to make up the likely sales dip in Europe
