800$ over the EX for the EX-T
Turbo upgrade cost?
Anyone want to start guessing what the premium on the 1.5T will be?

^ I had a feeling someone would say that since I couldn't have imagined them going $1000 or more above the EX for the T. Easy cost for anyone to absorb that wants the turbo.
That's a good number. I can deal with $800 over the base EX and it'll already have the auto so you won't have to add the cost of that over the manual like you do with the 2.0L.
Can't wait to test drive. Even though i'm waiting for the coupe i'm absolutely gonna test the sedan just see how it feels. If it wow's me then the coupe should be even better as it usually is tuned even sportier than the sedan is.

Honda has shown us that it can and is making the civic a class leading car again. Interior detail and materials, engine output, all they need to cement their status as class leaders is handling performance, and thats something honda should be able to do easily, handling has always been their thing.
Indeed, the new chassis rigidity sounds excellent. It seems like Honda has tackled the handling aspect without falling prey to super stiff suspension. Granted no one has driven anything so what do I know...Any little bit can help. Honestly the current car is considered such a dud that any improvement is huge.

I wonder if hyundai is bringing this level of refinement and performance to the table with the new Elantra, doubt it. Same for the new Cruze, they'll be comfortable and quiet sure, but the performance aspect is where the civic will really outshine them both. And lets not even get started on the corolla with it's 15 year old engine and 4 speed automatic (lower trims). I wonder, if the new civic is a huge sales success and toyota starts losing customers, will they completely revamp the corolla and actually do something more than cosmetic to it?
Good question... I would have to say doubt it. The Civic slowly worked its way away from its sportier, fun roots. The Corolla was never popular because of its sporting prowess, unless you want to talk about the EARLY days of the 86... but I don't even consider that car part of the current corollas lineage TBH...Well they claim class leading in comfort and handling and all that good stuff. Thinking 800 is low. More like 1000-1400. Turbo, intercooler, plumbing, PCV, additional ducting, and possibly oil cooler... that all adds up fast.

I think that's too high. I'd say 1000-1500 would be much closer in what the EX to EX-T markup would be assuming both are equipped with the CVT.more like 2000-2250 i'd bet ..
Honda's not going to want to price the new engine out of its customer base as that would quickly throw the Civic into EX accord territory. Obviously the EXL and Touring will be pushing accord EX prices, but those models also have features the accord EX doesn't. And assuming the car doesn't crest roughly 27k for the Touring model the pricing steps to that from 19k for the LX, 1000-1500 make more sense.
What is the markup on other small turbos on the market from chevy and ford? That would be a good indicator of what to expect from Honda.
