Hi All,

I drove a clean used 2017 Si coupe today, and enjoyed it more than I expected I would. It has been maintained well.

In the "trunk" there are 2 RCA jacks, and this huge copper cable that appears to have been crudely cut apart. Presumably, the previous owner had a subwoofer back there. I know nothing about these subwoofers, but by the look of that cable, they must take some huge amount of power. This cable is thicker than anything I have ever seen before.

My question is, how much load does that put on the electrical system of the car? Is this anything I should be concerned about? Could there be any damage done to the cars systems?

Thanks for any help

I'd get a comprehensive extended warranty if it were I.

I think the alternator takes the biggest hit on that crap.Take it to a shop that can check the alternator.
The whole electrical system takes a punishment mainly from these pples that don't know what they're doing. Its just like running your engine on 9lb boost and then tearing the clutch up.You have to make everything else capable of handling more power and with electrical it puts heat into a system that is meant to handle 180 watts then drawing 450 watts thru it for example. You can take a chance and maybe it will be ok...maybe.I'd prob just flip and get a new alternator.
Maybe someone else knows better than I but I will not purchase anything that looks like a "motorhead" or "music-phile" has been tweaking with.

That's why I'm also interested in a Si.It's complete(mainly) and ready to go have fun with.Do what you want tho.Good luck.

P.S. Do you have any pictures of that Si?I'm struggling with the choosing a color. Now Rally Red is looking good to me...lol,thx.
