Civic VIN translator
Numbers 1-3 are the World Manufacturer Index (WMI) and tells you the country/region/plant car is made:

  • 2HG = Alliston plant
  • 19X = Indiana plant
  • SHH = Swindon plant
Numbers 4-9 are the Vehicle Description Section (VDS) which tells you the model, body type, transmission, engine:

  • Numbers 4-6 (model line and engine type)
    • FC1 = Sedan Turbo (1.5T)
    • FC2 = Sedan N/A (2.0L)
    • [__] = Coupe
    • [__] = Hatchback
  • Number 7 (body and transmission)
    • F = 4 door sedan CVT
    • E = 4 door sedan Manual
  • Number 8 (equipment trim level)
    • 3 = Sedan EX-T
    • 4 = Sedan EX-T with Honda Sensing
    • 5 = Sedan LX
    • 6 = Sedan LX with Honda Sensing
    • 7 Sedan EX and EX-TL
    • 8 = Sedan EX with Honda Sensing / EX-T with Honda Sensing
    • 9 = Sedan Touring
  • Number 9 (check digit)
Numbers 10-17 are the Vehicle Identification Section (VIS) and identify the particular vehicle:

  • Number 10
    • G = 2016 model year
  • Number 11
    • H = Alliston plant
    • E = Indiana plant
    • [_] = Swindon plant
  • Numbers 12-17
    • Sequential production number - i.e. #XX,XXX Civic made at the particular plant

Recently i purchased my first used car, i checked it with a professorial mechanic, everything was alright and we made a good deal. Now i found the website which decodes the vin and decided to do it just for fun. it decoded mine perfectly except that my vin says i have nav and I don't ?????:oops::unsure:

The VIN is the Vehicle Identification Number on the Vingurus service for free vin report. This is an exceptional number consisting of 17 characters used for the image of the vehicle.
