We all know this is coming eventually... Pretty sure this is just photoshop but you know it's going to happen. This whole Rocket Bunny/Liberty Walk everything phase is going crazy and I'm sure the Civic is next up in line..

Dare I say... thoughts ?

doesn't earn thoughts from me, as my parents taught me if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything.

This whole overfender thing works great on a few cars but the 10th Civic is not one of them and you don't need a number of examples to see that. What I much rather see are aero kits along the lines of what SEIBON brought out to this years SEMA show.

People will spend money on whatever pleases them, the "stanced" movement will continue over all types of sport compact cars so I guess the 10th gen. Civic will not be able to avoid it. As long as I don't get hit by a flying wheel or stretched tire I'm okay with it, they can kill themselves if they like as long as it doesn't affect innocent bystanders.

Those bulging fenders makes the tires look oddly tiny and I was actually expecting to see these kind of mods on the hatchback variant, what with the whole hot hatch movements that's been gaining popularity recently and the upcoming type R.
I do tend to feel a bit discomforted when I'm driving behind a "stanced" stupid excessively cambered car with ridiculously stretched tires and "hellaflush" fitment. Just oh so excessively dangerous it's ridiculous.

But I just feel like this whole over fender thing looks so half done. Just chop some panels, rivet them on, get it painted and call it a day. Exposed rivets just always remind me of something from Death Race
some of you probably too young to recall...

but, back in the early days of automotive customization, i'd see stretched RX-7's and Tempo's...rabbits....civics, corollas, maxima's (altima's weren't around then!)...suzuki whatever they heck there were called....

never ever been a fan of that look...air ride, lowered...hydraulics...wild paint jobs...yes...

stretched or stance - never been a fan.

I think it was the VW guys that sort of started it a while ago and after the whole JDM styled thing phased out that's when we started to see this whole thing pop up with just about all types of cars. Can't wait for it to phase out.
From what I've seen, it was after the whole F&F phase. At that point there wasn't even many lowered cars and stretch tires was like an unknown. The VW scene that I caught drift off from the UK is when I started really seeing slammed and stretch fitment and all of that stuff. Then I slowly started seeing it start around me and I just shook my head..

Now we have scraping competitions at car shows ?! Lord help the scene...
