Whistling noise from heater in floor mode

I have the most annoying whistling sound coming from my heater in floor mode. I have had 2 other cars checked on the lot and they do the same. Wondering if anyone else has this problem. Maybe you do but didn't notice. I told the service at Honda along with my 15 other issues, but they concluded that the other 2 cars on the lot does it, so this annoying whistle must be a new unwanted feature on all new Civics.

Hmm, a whistle can't be too severe of an issue though. It's just some bit that is sloped slightly differently and is therefore making a whistle. Should be easy to fix once you find where the whistle is coming from.

That would be super annoying though.

Yes I agree (except the annoying whistle) but have you thought of where the heating duct with the actuator is? Its deeeeep inside the dash. That dash has to come out and that's a lot of parts that have to be removed and all those parts have a lot of screws and fasteners. One missed or wrong screw (try keeping track after 150 fasteners) and what you have is collateral damage (rattle in the dash) that will rear its ugly head usually after the warranty expires which means that you will have to fix it at your expense later. Been there done that....trust me. Fixing this issue will most likely cause another issue down the road. The mechanic who will fix it probably hasn't taken a 2016 dash apart because its a new model, but the guy at the factory has done it thousands of times and knows the dash like the back of his hand. That's why its true when they say "it's never as good as the factory".

So I've heard. :)
Which models are they hearing this whistling in?
My service dealer told me that they checked two other cars on the lot (one being a demo) and they had the same issue. I don't think this is an isolated issue, that is why I am looking on this forum to see if this not. I would have to assume any trim except the base model without A/C cause it my have a different HVAC duct system. I am sure they all have the same HVAC duct. If no one else is complaining about this same issue then it might a result of a bad batch of parts that slipped through Q/C and into the cars (mine and the other 2 being part of them)
You can try asking a tech if there happens to be a techincal service bulletin out on the issue. it's quite possible at this stage that might be the case.

Some will tell you, some won't. Worth trying.
As far as the Honda knows, they are not aware of it. I told them about my other issues and they reply with the same answer "we are not aware of any complaints on this issue". I went on this site and discovered that others have had the same problem and notified Honda. Honda is notorious for playing "blind, deaf and dumb" when it comes to issues because they are only professionals at taking your money, they are very lousy at dishing out money (warranty claims) or claiming full responsibility. If you don't take pictures or video of the problem, they will not warranty your claim. They don't even accept testimonies or witnesses. They will only give in when they see proof that could incriminate them in court. Period. At Honda Warranty Department its...buyer prepare!

This may be an old thread but the problem remains.
My first Honda was a basic 2016 Honda Civic. I noticed the same whistle and it is directly related to the fan. Some days it was worse than other days. I brought it to Honda's attention only to be told I was hearing the turbo. Sigh. I didn't have a turbo on that car. Poor kid didn't know what to say after that. Fast forward a couple of years down the road and I traded in for a 2018 Civic Hatchback Sport with turbo. Identical problem. If I were autistic, it would drive me up the wall.
